Privacy policy

Effective date: September 20, 2026

Along is operated by Hoodie LLC in California, United States. The connector is currently in pre-launch review with email-confirmed accounts; references to Muse describe the intended connected experience when available. This policy explains how we handle information when you visit our website or use Along through Muse. Contact privacy@letsgoalong.com with privacy questions or requests. Our public website is https://letsgoalong.com.

Information you provide

Please avoid putting sensitive personal information, private home addresses or someone else's personal details in event descriptions or arrival instructions. We do not need your contacts, background GPS location, government ID or payment-card details for the current service.

Information received from Muse and organizers

Muse sends the information needed for the Along actions you request, such as a city, interests, event details or a decision to join a group. Connecting Along does not give us general access to your entire Muse conversation history or your other connected accounts.

We collect public event information from organizer calendars and permitted feeds, including titles, times, venues, source links and the time we checked them. We do not import private attendee lists from other platforms.

Technical information

Our hosting and authentication services process technical information needed to deliver and protect the service, which can include IP addresses, request times, browser information, authentication events and errors. We use this information for reliability, troubleshooting and misuse prevention. Access credentials should not be included in support messages.

The public product website does not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics. Authentication may use essential session storage or cookies when you sign in. We do not use the website to track your browsing across unrelated services. Because we do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising in the current service, there is no such activity to opt out of through a browser privacy signal. If these practices change, we will update this policy and provide any choices required by law.

Why we use information

We use information to operate accounts, find relevant activities, maintain group capacity, coordinate plans, record cancellations, support mutual connections, answer requests and protect the service. We do not sell your personal information, run targeted advertising using your participation, or use your private participation and connection choices to train our own AI models.

Who can see what

Optional event classification may send public organizer text to Typesafe's Jev API. Our current workflow does not send private user profiles, group memberships or meet-again choices to that service. Visiting or registering with an external organizer is separate from Along; the organizer handles information you give it under its own policies.

Retention and deletion

We retain account and participation information while it is needed to provide your account, plans and connections. You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your information using the contact above. We may retain limited information when necessary for legal obligations, unresolved disputes, security or misuse investigations. Where backups exist, copies may remain until they expire under the applicable retention schedule and are not used as an active user database.

Deleting an account may require cancelling gatherings you host and removing related group or connection records. We will explain material effects when verifying the request. Our deletion process must protect other users' information; a data export does not include another person's private choices or credentials.

Disconnecting Along in Muse stops that connection from exchanging new information. It is not the same as deleting your Along account. Information already present in your Muse history or memories is governed by Meta's controls. See our account and data deletion page.

Your choices and rights

You can update your profile, leave a group and withdraw a meet-again choice through the supported Along actions. Leaving a group removes access to its private details, but cannot make another participant forget information already shared.

You may contact us to request access, correction, an export or deletion, or to raise a privacy concern. We may need proportionate information to verify that a request concerns your account. Do not email a password or government ID unless a separately explained, secure process is necessary. We respond according to applicable law and do not penalize people for exercising privacy rights. Depending on your location and the laws that apply to us, additional rights or authorized-agent request procedures may be available.

Adults, location and policy changes

Along is for adults 18 and older. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. Along is operated in the United States; using third-party services may involve processing in their operating locations. We do not claim certifications or international transfer mechanisms that we have not established.

We will update the date on this page when this policy changes. For material changes affecting personal information, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent where required. Contact privacy@letsgoalong.com if you have questions about a change.
